This app is a calculation, measurement and testing tool for noise sources such as heat pumps, air conditioners, appliances, installations and roads. This tool can be used to estimate the noise pollution caused by these sources in the outdoor environment. The results can be compared with applicable limit values.

Noise perception is subjective in nature, but noise standards are usually determined numerically. An important goal of this app is to get a feel for this numerical approach and the associated assessment system. With some skill, insight can be gained into existing and future problem situations, the consequences of new standards for noise policy and the imposition of noise rules.
It can also be used to assess the need for a specialist noise survey. It then serves as a bridge between lay people and integrated advisors on the one hand and noise specialists on the other. There are cases where it would have been better to decide on the basis of a specialist examination and cases where it could have been assessed in advance that such a costly and time-consuming examination would not have been necessary.
The app is suitable for (integral) advisors, policy makers, licensing authorities, supervisors, enforcers, local residents/inconvenienced people and initiators of noise sources.
