Images, text, and audio descriptions of a wide selection of works are featured. The audio guide was inspired by the educational purpose of the Art and Image course at the Quintino Di Vona Middle School in Milan.
We proposed a new project to the students for the 2018/19 school year: an Android app dedicated to the GAM in Milan, making this museum a "regular outing in the area" for all third-grade classes. We have already developed a series of apps consisting of audio guides for Android phones, covering the history of art and assessment tests on the various artistic periods covered in class (obviously all free and ad-free, they are essentially a continuation of the classroom lessons).
Our goals: to develop a collaborative project (interdisciplinary because language colleagues will also be involved). To propose a project conceived and created by the students of the eighth-grade middle school classes (following the chronological path covered in the last year of middle school: from Neoclassicism to Modern Art). Select a series of significant works from the permanent collection for each artistic period, creating an audio guide-style description (bilingual English/Italian text and accompanying audio). Ensure the Android app is free, free of all advertising, and compliant with current user privacy regulations.
