“Bredele”, also known as “Bredala” or “Bredle”, are small cakes traditionally made in Alsace during the Christmas period! Passed down from generation to generation, these family recipes reflect the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the region. We created this application to share these delicious recipes and allow everyone to discover this gourmet tradition.
An Ancestral Heritage
The history of Bredele dates back to the 14th century, where the first recipes can be found in Strasbourg, in Alsace. However, it was not until the 18th century that these little cakes began to become more popular, becoming more and more popular. The rise of cookie cutters at the beginning of the 19th century also contributed to their proliferation, making it possible to create varied and festive shapes.
