Any kind of addiction, especially to drugs and alcohol, can have serious negative consequences on the life of an individual and a family. It can affect them physically and mentally, while also affecting work, school or their relationships. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent this. With proper education and word of mouth in the community and various self-help tools, addiction to drugs, alcohol, smoking, internet and cell phones, gambling and gambling can be stopped before it starts.
For this reason, addiction prevention is absolutely necessary. Addiction can take over someone's life, so our strategy for preventing addiction is not to let it take over at all, that is, to reduce risky forms of behavior, negative consequences of harmful behavior and damage to health.
In its many years of activity, HUHIV covers groups of society in the area of risky behaviors that lead to endangerment of physical, social, mental and sexual health, based on the public health approach of harm reduction in solving the health challenges of Croatian citizens. This approach aims to reduce risky forms of behavior and negative consequences of harmful behavior and not just to eliminate harmful behavior, which is not always objectively possible.
