Open Lap is a simple, no-nonsense slot car race management app for Carrera® DIGITAL 124/132 systems.
In a nutshell, Open Lap lets you
- connect your mobile device via Bluetooth using Carrera AppConnect®.
- take it easy during free practice, go for fastest lap in qualifying, or compete in lap or time based race sessions.
- get informed about important events, such as fastest laps or low fuel conditions, by personalized voice messages.
- adjust vehicle speed, brake force and fuel tank size for each car individually.
- measure up to three intermediate or sector times (S1, S2, S3) using Carrera® Check Lane or compatible equipment.
- send out the pace car in case of emergency, or temporarily disable lap counting during a "yellow flag" phase.
Please note that it is necessary to enable location services on your device to connect to Carrera AppConnect® via Bluetooth on Android 11 or lower. Also some features, such as the start light and pace car buttons, require Carrera® Control Unit firmware version 3.31 or higher. Carrera® Check Lane support requires at least firmware version 3.36.

Really simple to use, immediately unlocked a whole bunch of play for my Carrera starter set. Would definitely recommend for anyone who's "trying out" Carrera slot cars. It showed me that I am interested in this hobby! Thank you for developing this! For the developer - Is there a way you could support multiple ghost cars? Currently the lap counter counts both of my ghosts as the same car, so they double up on laps and they halve my best lap times! I love a challenge, but it'd be nice if they didn't cheat ;)

Thanks for your review! Unfortunately, the hardware only supports a single ghost car. But maybe you can set up your second car as "pace car", which would be counted separately.

The application is perfect and simple, very robust and does not subcome to crashes, does not have bugs etc. Can you please install a sound following the LED countdown, for a race start timer? Best regards, M.

Thanks! Regarding the countdown timer: The start sequence as reported by the app can be delayed significantly, e.g. half a second, over Bluetooth. So this is not very reliable. Better check the LEDs and sound of the control unit.

Do you have a new "three-piece" pitlane (Carrera 30356) or an older one with the Pitstop Adapter Unit (Carrera 30361)?
Is the Adapter Unit facing the right direction?
Is MODE on the control unit Set to FUEL or REAL?
