The New Wheels Of Change app is part of an Erasmus+ project that focuses on promoting sustainable urban mobility and road safety. The app offers teachers and students innovative learning tools that help to effectively learn the topics of environmentally friendly transportation, active mobility and road safety.
The app consists of 10 modules with 5 difficulty levels
Module 1: Traffic signs
Module 2: Traffic rules
Module 3: Repair
Module 4: Security and Protection
Module 5: Safety equipment
Module 6: Skills
Module 7: Behavior on the road
Module 8: Sustainability
Module 9: Health and Sport
Module 10: Good to know
Each question has 3 possible answers, with only one being the correct answer. Another answer choice is always fundamentally wrong and one answer choice is wrong and funny at the same time. This is intended to increase the joy and fun of learning. The app will be free from October 24th, 2024 and available in German. In the coming updates, the following additional languages will be added and will be available free of charge:
English
Italian
Macedonian
Slovenian
An important goal of the app is to raise awareness among both young and adult target groups to use more sustainable means of transport and at the same time increase traffic safety. It uses digital learning content and integrates new technologies to arouse interest and demonstrate the relevance of safe behavior on the road.
The app was developed as part of an international collaboration that includes partners from Austria, Italy, Slovenia and North Macedonia. This collaboration underlines the European dimension of the project and shows the importance of cross-border approaches to promoting education and sustainability. The app also promotes the development of skills necessary to implement the European mobility goals and digitalization strategy.
The project is a response to the increasing importance of digitalization in education and the urgent need to promote environmentally friendly alternatives to fossil fuels in the transport sector. It aims to combat climate change while promoting safe, sustainable and healthy lifestyles.
