• Cast YouTube videos
• Cast media content from your android device
• Play local media files on your Raspberry Pi
• Play streams from playlists (m3u, pls) on your Raspberry Pi
Requirements:
You just need a Raspberry Pi with a running SSH-Server, the omxplayer and optional a little image viewer. I only tested it with Raspbian, but there is no reason why it shouldn't work on other distributions.
Features:
• Controllable via a seekbar
• Hardware volume buttons
• Support for multiple audio and subtitle (srt-format) streams
Usage:
• To cast YouTube videos to your Raspberry Pi just open the YouTube app and a video and choose "Share" → Raspicast.
• To play streams just copy a playlist (m3u or pls format) to your android device and open the list via the app, or play the streams manually from the actionbar.

So easy to set up... I was watching videos on YouTube on my Raspberry Pi with very little effort. Just remember: change your password for the 'pi' user like the warning the Pixel desktop warns about when you enable the SSH server! I came to this app by a curious Google search. I will love to donate some money to the developer for this app's continued development!

really great app. Youtube videos came alive on hdmi display connected to my jessie raspbian. Also , local video files played well too. Can you suggest way to see hotstar app video on raspberry pi 3 connected display ? All devices are on same network.

It works great except for one feature. If I put a new video into the que it does not automatically switch to the next video after the old finishes.

Works Great! For anyone using Pimoroni's pHAT DAC (also probably all other DAC hardware running on the I2S interface) you need to change the advanced options: Alsa device: default omxplayer commandline options: -o alsa:hw:0,0 Change the audio output from the context menu to: alsa Cheers!

I think this is awesome! Thank you for making it! I have a suggestion, or perhaps I can fiddle around to have the option, to have the ability to cast the website you're on, such as if you have a recipe or something.

Good job! Much appreciated. I wish it could play livestream video and had the option to show a Suggested videos screen at the video or disable the auto replay. Also, music player needs more controls and a visualizer or album art support.
Awesome work. Easy to set up. Made me use my TV a lot more again instead of watching a lot on my phone. The app even lets me change the volume of my TV through hmdi cec by just using the volume buttons on my phone. This is great
5 stars if I could use androids 'open with' menus to drop stream links etc to raspicast.
Wow! This app really delivers! I can play music to my pi easily! By the way if you are using the AIY Projects kit switch your audio output to ALSA for it to work!
works perfectly and seamlessly as soon as you set up the pi with ssh server. easy to use and simple to setup.. great work..keep it up.
Awesome app I can't thank the creator enough, it removes the need for dlna apps and makes the usage of raspberry as a media center a great success
Best raspi streaming app. Can't be better. This beats my previous opinion about kodi being Best.
Thanks a lot Benjamin for creating this application. It works like wonder. Now I can cast all my content from my mobile. Please provide details to view subtitles.
Everything is working great but I'm unable to get audio output Can you please help me???
Great app.. i love how i can cast videos and audio from my smartphone to raspberry. I only suggest to add volume monitoring in the app..
Hey its an awesome app.. Great work! May I please know how to enable the slideshow of pictures?
Easy and simple, would like 1080p60 content to be played but it goes only up to 720p30.
Works very well with Xperia Z5 premium n Raspberry pi 2 👌👍
Absolutely fantastic, perfect for my needs, and no need for Kodi. Thanks for the great work dev.
I am using it from a long time.... I would recommend it to everyone.
