About this app

The LKV-GenoFarm [BY] app was specially developed for farms that participate in KuhVisions projects for Simmental and Brown Swiss. With the help of this app, approved farmers can easily and easily enter the applications for genomic testing themselves. The application with paper print is no longer necessary and is replaced by the new online procedure of the LKV-GenoFarm App. The term "GenoFarm" was chosen deliberately, because over the months and years in which the farms carry out genotyping of their animals, their proportion in the herd increases continuously. Before the release of the LKV-GenoFarm[BY] app, the breeding associations organized the drawing of the ear punch samples and the application for genomic testing. The LKV-GenoFarm[BY] app is intended to support farmers and breeding associations, enable farmers to work independently and make work easier for breeding associations. In order to use the LKV-GenoFarm[BY] app, the farm needs activation via the responsible breeding association. As soon as this activation takes place, the farm can log in to the LKV-GenoFarm[BY] app with its HIT access data. When entering the LKV-GenoFarm[BY], the companies are shown the KuhVisions project in which they are participating and whether the associated G+R funding conditions are met.
The heart of the new app is the animal list, in which the animals for the application for genomic testing can be selected. Only animals that meet the funding criteria of the projects can be selected for the application (column "A" = "J").
