The idea is great when it is working however cost was very high. I am constantly getting an offline alarm when the mare's phone has 3 bars of service and she is only 2-3 miles from a cell tower that our carrier is on. Update: After changing phones I did not have a problem with the offline alarm. It definitely served it's purpose and I was present for the delivery of our foal. Some problems we faced were: the pouch fell off once and took some time to find, the phone got wet during a rain storm and the app gave false alarms on a daily basis. Each time the mare laid down to roll it alarmed and my mare did this 2-3 times per day I learned.

Hi Catherine,
We have tried to price as cheaply as possible - the cost of developing the app was substantial.
In regards to the offline alert, this should not happen, so please email support@foalapp.com and we can help get this fixed!

This app was once decent. Now it's terrible and the company refuses any support but time wasting email since apparently Australian companies can't call internationally. This app should be removed from the play store immediately as all it does is charge you over and over for a service it cannot provide nor support. I am reporting them to my bank as fraud.

Worked great! First time I used it, I checked my mare in the evening and she didn't appear ready so went in to eat a meal. I barely sad down when it alerted me in a loud voice "your mare is foaling". I jumped out of my chair, ran to the barn just as she went into labor! I've used it on several other mare and slept in my bed not in the barn. Getting it ready for another foal this year. Great app and much less expensive that foal alert systems of the past.
