About this app

BM Live Field is the mobile companion to BM Live, the facilities-maintenance platform used by BM Live Pty Ltd and its customers. It puts a technician's assigned work in their pocket: the jobs, the inspection forms, and the photo evidence the client expects - on site, whether or not there is a signal.

A BM LIVE ACCOUNT IS REQUIRED

This is a workplace tool, not a consumer app. There is no sign-up inside the app. You sign in with a BM Live account issued to you by your employer or your BM Live administrator, and you see only the work assigned to you. Without those credentials the app shows a sign-in screen and nothing else. If your organisation does not use BM Live yet, speak to your manager.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

- Open the work orders assigned to you, with the client, site, description, priority and due date already downloaded.
- Move a job through its lifecycle, with each change timestamped.
- Capture photo evidence against a job, straight from the camera.
- Complete the inspection checklists your client requires, item by item, with pass/fail/not-applicable results and optional notes.
- Review the reports your role gives you access to.

BUILT FOR PLANT ROOMS AND BASEMENTS

Field work happens where the network does not. BM Live Field is offline-first, not merely offline-tolerant:

- Your assigned work is synced to the device and readable with aircraft mode on.
- Status changes, inspection results and photos you record offline are queued locally and sent automatically when a connection returns. Nothing is lost if you close the app, lose signal mid-job or run out of battery.
- The queue is visible: you can see what is still waiting to upload rather than guessing.
- Photos are downscaled on the device before upload, so a day of evidence does not consume a month of data.

EVIDENCE THAT HOLDS UP

Photos are taken through the app's own camera - the app never browses your photo gallery and asks for no permission to do so. Each photo is stamped with the time it was taken and, where the device can obtain one, the location of the capture, so the record shows where and when the work was documented. Location is captured only at the moment you take a photo. The app never tracks you in the background and never requests background location.

SECURITY

- Work data is cached in the app's private storage on the device, with the local database encrypted, and signing out erases it.
- Your session is held in the operating system's secure keystore, not in ordinary app storage.
- All communication with BM Live is over HTTPS.
- An administrator can revoke a lost or stolen device from the BM Live web app; the next time it reaches the network, the app clears its local data.

PERMISSIONS AND WHY WE ASK

- Camera - to photograph work-order evidence. Optional; you can use the rest of the app without it.
- Location (while using the app) - to record where a photo was taken. Optional; if you decline, photos still upload without a location.

BM Live Field is free. It contains no advertising and no in-app purchases, and is intended for adults using it in the course of their work.
