Describe the shift the way you'd tell a colleague. Clio Care writes the shift note, in professional language, linked to the participant's goals, ready to read and sign.
An app for independent support workers in Australia. Sole traders who are their own provider, with no office behind them and nobody to check their paperwork.
Shift notes
Clio does not invent detail you did not give it. Where a note needs something you have not said, it asks you rather than filling the gap. Save your own templates for the shifts you run often, and keep every note you have written in one searchable history.
Incidents and safeguarding
Hard shifts are when documentation matters most and when you have the least energy for it. If something you described belongs in a safety section, it lands there even if you had already ticked the shift as incident free. Nothing gets lost because you were tired.
If what you describe is genuinely reportable, the note says so and names the category under the NDIS incident rules, so you are not looking it up at 9pm. If it was a hard moment rather than an incident, a meltdown, damaged property, a refusal, it goes down plainly with no alarm attached, because a tool that flags everything is a tool you stop reading.
After an injury or a restraint, Clio asks what physical check you did rather than filling in that the participant seemed fine. If your note mentions a behaviour support plan and there is none on file, it lets you know.
Reports
Four kinds, drawn from the notes you have already written. A plan review summary for a plan review. An incident summary covering reportable incident classifications and patterns over time. A goal progress report for a single goal. A handover report to brief an incoming worker, using the last three months by default.
Calendar
Schedule your shifts, see the week ahead, track your hours. Write the note straight from the shift record so the date, time and service type carry across without retyping. Turn a finished shift into an invoice the same way.
Participants
Plan details, goals and consent records for each participant, with their documents stored securely in their profile. Write a service agreement, send it for signing, and have it signed and returned electronically without printing anything.
Money
Invoicing is built around how you actually work. Start an invoice from a completed shift and the date, times and hours come across already filled in. The full NDIS support item catalogue is built in, including the separate codes for cancellations, travel, telehealth and non face to face work. Set a participant's usual service once and it fills itself in on every future shift of that type. Clio checks the day the shift fell on and tells you when a Saturday, Sunday or evening shift is about to bill at the weekday rate. It also shows which finished shifts you have not invoiced yet, tracks payment terms and due dates, and tells you what is outstanding and what is overdue.
For expenses, photograph the receipt and Clio reads it. Date, merchant, amount, GST and category come back filled in for you to check. The receipt stays with the expense, there when you need it at tax time. A tax summary pulls the year together.
