The LINC App also lets you track your progress on the LINC Parent Journey. You’ll receive a personalized roadmap, tailored to your child’s age, guiding you through four stages: Explorer, Learner, Leader, and Champion. As you move through each stage, you’ll earn digital badges and rewards, motivating you to continue your journey toward becoming a literacy advocate and changemaker in your community.

Why Early Literacy Matters:

Research shows that 90% of a child’s brain develops in the first five years—making early literacy a critical predictor of lifelong success. Children who participate in high-quality literacy programs enjoy immediate educational and social benefits, with long-term gains in health, economic, and civic outcomes. Early literacy can boost your child’s chances of graduating from high school by 25%, quadruple their likelihood of earning a college degree, and increase their earning potential by 25% in adulthood.

By engaging in LINC’s quality literacy programs, you’ll ensure your child is ready to start school with confidence, setting them up for academic success and a lifetime of opportunities.

Why Choose LINC?

LINC’s community literacy model brings families and communities together to joyfully read, learn, and grow. We give parents the skills and confidence they need to support their child’s early learning, offering free books and materials to create home libraries and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Parents learn practical tips and tools to support their child’s early literacy, tailored to their age and needs. This includes simple ways to recognize letters, build vocabulary, and develop important language skills. Some of our key workshops include: "Baby Talk," "Big Feelings, Little Babies," "Why Toddler’s Talk and How to Respond," "ABC’s of a Phonics Rich Home" and "Building Vocabulary through Social-Emotional Learning."

Once parents complete the LINC Parent Journey, they can join our Very Involved Parent (VIP) Program. VIP graduates become Literacy Advocates in their community, helping more families get involved while also connecting to other educational opportunities.

Compared to non-LINC families
LINC families are more likely to:
Read to their children 3+ times a week
Teach their children about heritage and other cultures

After participating in LINC programs, families report:
97% are more involved in their children’s learning at home
90% feel more knowledgeable about child development
98% feel prepared to promote literacy in their child’s school
