I'd avoid. More often than not you get into a (bot driven?) bidding war where a fisrt class upgrade costs as much as buying a first class ticket from the train provider. Secondly, it's not reliable when it does work. I just successfully bought a first class upgrade only to board the train and find no free seats available. Had to sit in coach class as a result. Their app and Web site does not make refunds easy, unlike the train providers themselves. The service doesn't really work as intended.

The bidding system sort of works, in that it finishes and you get a ticket at the end if your bid is highest. But because it only finishes a short while before the train departs the seats you get are not in the same place. Fine for one person, not much good for two or more.

I love Seatfrog. I've done several 4 hour journeys recently and have managed to upgrade for around £10 each time. It's absolutely worth its weight in gold. I've never had any problems with the app and cancellations are also easy to deal with.
