Functions include measures of disease frequency (including confidence intervals for prevalence, incidence risk and incidence rates), measures of association and measures of effect (from 2 × 2 table data), various sample size calculators, diagnostic test validation, estimation of the post-test probability of disease, a random number generator and a comprehensive epidemiology glossary.

What’s new

Sample size functions now include option to enter population size (with default to unknown). If population size entered the calculated sample size is adjusted using a finite population correction factor.

Glossary includes option to filter on medical, veterinary and plant epidemiology terms. The veterinary glossary includes infectious disease outbreak location terms used by Animal Health Australia and the Ministry for Primary Industries (New Zealand).
