You brought great quality grocery may be even at premium prices. But it got hidden OR forgotten behind other items. You find it only after its expiry date realising it is too late to consume it and throw away the food (& effectively your money) down into the garbage bin.

Let grobit be your personal home assistant manage your shopping lists, track your stock and tasks, your recipe collection & to provide you tips and tricks around your groceries and home!

grobit covers the following features:

SHOP : Shopping List Management and Budget tracking
- Create multiple shopping lists with different shopping items , as per your need => Plan ahead so that you don't forget an important item and enjoy your shopping
- Quickly add previously shopped items back to the list and save yourself time
- Make a shopping budget in advance and track your spend as you are shopping via a shopping session. If maintained in settings, sales tax is automatically added to cost when saving
- Keep track of your shopping expenses. Check your statistics and find out the expense pattern, impulse shopping percent etc.
- Share you shopping lists with your friends via email, chat or any other medium of your choice

STOCK & TRACK: Pantry & Home Inventory Management
- Maintain an inventory of your items including expiry & storage location
- Track perishable items on your inventory and consume them on time. Save your money!

RECIPE:
- Discover new recipes regularly
- Create your own recipes
- Check if ingredients are available in pantry. If not add directly to shopping list
- Consume your groceries before expiry by using the recipe ideas :-)

TODO Lists
- Track all the ToDos and Tasks around the house and make sure you never forget them
- You can create new ToDos from scratch or you can benefit from pre-designed templates which reduce data entry

App Input Options
Other than the classical data entry to create new items, you can also use the following input options in the app:
- Select and add from 550+ items to lists.
- Scan barcodes to update inventory/shopping list via Open Foods.
- Use speech for easy list entries, say "AND" for multiples.
- Reuse items via search, scan, or voice.
- Use 9 ToDo templates for quick task creation.

OTHER Features
- Custom Categories : You can create your own categories with color and icons in addition to the ones provided by the app
- Notifications : Once enabled app will remind you about upcoming food expiry OR due tasks.
- Multi-Device Sync : Using Google account you can sync your data to multiple Android devices over the same account.
- Media : Regular video tips and hacks for your home OR grocery are provided in the app for you. Additionally special app features are also highlighted from time to time in form of short videos.

Ratings and reviews

Pretty helpful in terms of keeping tab on home grocery inventory. But you guys should try to incorporate 'SHARE' option using which inventory / shopping list can be shared among family members.. Also, a dashboard showing summary of purchase/ spend for a given time range (user should be able to select the time range) would do a world of good!!

A lot of work up front because you have to manually add each new item, but overall a decent app. Giving 4 stars because I would like to be able to share my account on my wife's phone, and it would be so much more helpful if the barcodes actually linked to a database instead of having to manually enter each new item.

Terrible interface for date entry that won't let you type in the date. Also, said interface is after a delay slides up to reveal an ad that you can then accidentally tap on.
