Mushaf is a Quran reader with nothing in it but the Quran.
No ads, no subscriptions, no account, no analytics, no points for
reading. The text lives inside the app: the internet is needed only
for recitation audio.
THE TEXT
The Uthmani edition, Hafs from Asim: 114 surahs, 6236 ayahs. The text
is verified against a reference character by character — every letter,
every vowel mark, every pause sign. The check runs on every build, and
the app will not build if a single mark differs.
READING
Three page layouts:
• flowing text — the whole surah as one stream, with the end of each
mushaf page marked by a dotted rule and its number;
• by ayah — each ayah in its own block;
• by page — exactly one page of the Medina mushaf on screen, turned
with a swipe.
Size, line spacing, column width and weight are adjustable. Three
scripts: Scheherazade, Amiri, Naskh. Three themes: mushaf, dusk, night.
Separate dimming and warm light for reading in the dark.
TAJWEED
Six rules highlighted in the text itself: madd, qalqalah, ghunnah,
ikhfa, iqlab, idgham. Each rule opens with an explanation. The
highlighting can be turned off entirely.
LEARNING
The Arabic alphabet from scratch: 28 letters, each with its sound, its
initial, medial and final forms, and an example from the Quran. Vowel
marks, sukun, shadda, tanwin. Word breakdown: tap any word in the text
and it comes apart letter by letter.
NAVIGATION
Jump by surah, ayah, juz or page number. Search the Arabic text.
Similar passages: ayahs that nearly repeat one another. Bookmarks and
a return to where you stopped. A khatm over 30 or 60 days — with no
counters, no reminders and no reproach for a missed day.
RECITATION
Four reciters: Alafasy, Abdul Basit (murattal), Husary, Minshawi.
Repeat an ayah or a passage a chosen number of times. A surah can be
downloaded and listened to later without a connection.
LANGUAGE
The interface is available in 20 languages: Russian, English, Arabic,
Turkish, Azerbaijani, Indonesian, Malay, Urdu, Bengali, Hindi, Persian,
French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Swahili, Hausa, Chinese, Japanese,
Korean. The language is asked once at first launch and can be changed
in settings.
The Quran itself is neither translated nor interpreted: this is a
reader, not a tafsir.
ABOUT YOUR DATA
The app collects nothing about you. Bookmarks, settings and khatm
progress stay on your phone and go nowhere — not even into an Android
backup, which is disabled for this app. The only permission the app
requests is internet access, and only for recitation audio.
