BBC Weather app and your privacy:

BBC Weather is responsible for preparing and broadcasting weather forecasts across the BBC, in association with the MeteoGroup. It broadcast its first weather forecast in 1922 and by 1936 was pioneering the use of weather maps during TV forecasts. The BBC Weather app was launched in 2013 and is now one of the most popular weather apps in the UK.

Ratings and reviews

It works OK, forecasts are pessimistic for rain and show rain when your very own radar map shows clear. Widget normally works totally fine and refreshes with no problem automatically (location set to "all the time"). BUT sometimes, when you click on the widget to look at the weather in detail, when you go back to the home screen, the widget is showing the "local forecast is not avaliable" error message. At its next auto refresh it sorts itself out until you go in again.

Having used this app for some time, I find that it's pretty accurate on the whole. The layout provides a good summary of elements such as temperature, wind speed and precipitation, hour by hour. It's basically tied to one location but others can be selected for comparison and wider-scale mapping is now available. For everyday use, the app is simple and convenient.

The app is nice and easy to use but as far as predicting weather goes its pretty useless. It can't even get 'live' weather right. I'm currently in Palma and according to the app there is a zero % chance of rain and no cloud. It's been partly cloudy all day and it's currently torrential rain. The other two apps I use are spot on. What is wrong with this app?
