About this app

This app can provide good support for patients with irritable bowel syndrome - in addition to expert guidance from a specialized dietician - in following the low FODMAP diet. Certainly in the initial phase, it is not easy for patients to assess whether or not a particular food is low in FODMAP.
The app is specifically aimed at the Belgian market (in Dutch) and contains general FODMAP info, a product list (> 1400 foods), recipes and a shopping list. These tools can help the patient to follow a low FODMAP but varied and balanced diet.

The products included in the product list are products that can be bought in Belgian supermarkets and are considered low FODMAP based on the ingredient list. With "normal" portions, these products are therefore suitable for the low FODMAP diet. With this list you can use a search function, where you can search by product name or where for the brand products a barcode can be scanned to see whether or not the product in question is FODMAP poor.

For each product, a photo, the barcode, a short description (if available), the ingredients list, the nutritional value (if available online), FODMAP information (if applicable), and possibly the retail chain (s) where the product can certainly be bought are being displayed. You can filter by brand and / or store.
