The Hagelands countryside assumes a digital identity. In the house style of the region, the 20 Hageland municipalities helped build an app for Hageland. This innovative rural project, which is co-financed by Flanders and the province of Flemish Brabant, wants to bring these municipalities together digitally in one handy app called "hAPPy Hageland".
The app is a digital access road to the region, its rural villages and pretty towns, its local authorities and traders, and its tourist and cultural activities. Happy Hageland offers both functions aimed at residents and tourists.
All Hageland cities and municipalities can be found in Happy Hageland; Aarschot, Begijnendijk, Bekkevoort, Bierbeek, Boutersem, Diest, Geetbets, Glabbeek, Hoegaarden, Holsbeek, Kortenaken, Linter, Lubbeek, Rotselaar, Scherpenheuvel-Zichem, Tielt-Winge, Tienen, Tremelo and Zoutleeuw. The gateway to the Hageland, the city of Leuven, also has a place there.
Because this app works via geolocation, you can find local information from your Hageland home church or the Hageland church where you are at that moment.
Residents can read the local news, consult the data of municipal services, follow their favorite local traders and associations, ... Tourists also have the Hageland in their pocket with this app: there are walking and cycling routes, there can be a b & b or a cozy restaurant, the QR code reader can offer visitors more information about tourist sights, etc.
