A notepad without the fuss: one big text box per note, and nothing else. No account, no sign-up and no server. Everything stays on the phone you type it on.
NOTHING IS SAVED ON ITS OWN
What you type sits in the text box and goes to storage the moment you choose Save, and not before. No timer, no saving in the background. If you leave or switch notes with something unsaved, the app asks first.
YOUR NOTES ARE ENCRYPTED
On your device there is no readable text but noise, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key lives in the Android Keystore, in your phone's secure hardware: it cannot be read out and does not travel along in a backup. The app also refuses screenshots and does not show your text in the app switcher. You have to do nothing for any of this, and there is no password to type in or forget.
SEVERAL NOTES
Tap the name at the top to switch between notes. Every note is a separate text file, and that name is also the file name when you export it.
STRIKETHROUGH THAT STAYS
Cross out a selection or the line the cursor is on. It is done with a Unicode character, so the strikethrough survives exporting the text or pasting it into another app.
EXPORT AND IMPORT
Export one note as a .txt file, or all your notes together in a single file, with a password if you want one. That file opens again in this app — and in the versions for macOS, Windows, Linux and the browser. The same notes, the same app, no cloud in between.
SETTINGS
Three text sizes, sans serif or serif, a dark or a light theme, English or Dutch.
WORTH KNOWING
• No advertising, no tracking, no statistics, no crash reporting. The app does not ask for internet access, and does not have it.
• The key lives with the app: uninstalling it, or clearing its storage, takes your notes along. A copy of the files is not a backup — an export is, and it opens anywhere.
• What you export is deliberately readable text, unless you put a password on it.
• Free to use. It is a hobby project, made in spare time and provided as is: you use it at your own risk. The terms of use are shown once at the first start and stay within reach under About.
