About this app

RINGtv is your window on Halle-Vilvoorde (Flemish Brabant), which is roughly the very broad Flemish and green Rand around Brussels. RINGtv is the youngest of the 10 regional television broadcasters in Flanders and started on 1 March 1995.

Since the arrival of digital television and the internet, RINGtv can of course also be viewed far beyond these district limits. But Halle-Vilvoorde naturally remains the common thread in our daily news broadcasts. Furthermore, RINGtv serves a generous portion of sports on Friday and Sunday. In VIVA! lifestyle, tourism, living and enjoying are central. And during the summer months we promote the "holiday feeling in one's own region" in Cocktail.

In addition, there are regular series or documentaries that zoom in on current events or the history of our transmission area. In Geland in the Rand, for example, we are introduced to the newcomers who live in our region. In Congo we look back on the colonial past with a few regional partners who have a special relationship with this African country. We do this following the reopening of the African Museum in Tervuren. In In Bange Tijden we return to the horror of the first world war in Halle-Vilvoorde. And of course RINGtv was also in the post in the run-up to the municipal elections with debates and forecasts. And of course we were the first point of contact for results and reactions on election day itself.

With this range of programs, RINGtv wants to be a binding sign in a region where the diversity is very large. RINGtv also supports the Flemish character of its broadcasting area without compromising journalistic and deontological principles.

The broadcasting license and the management of the channel are in the hands of the fully independent VZW RTVB (Regional Television Flemish Brabant). RING TV is located in Vilvoorde, in the buildings of Videohouse, the largest facility company in Belgium that has been RINGtv's technical partner from the start.
