Let the timer and audio cues guide the rhythm of your breath as you breathe in and breathe out, inhaling the future and exhaling the past.

Pranayama ("prana" - life force, "yama" - regulation) is the conscious regulation & awareness of breath: the life force that both energizes and relaxes the body. It is no surprise that our breath can influence our physiology. Wim Hof, a Dutch extreme athlete, is noted for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures thanks to his breathwork.

Even if you are not aiming to become an extreme athlete, you can enjoy the many benefits of breathwork such as strengthening your immune system (which can be confirmed by measuring your heart rate variability, a.k.a., HRV), improving your ability to deal with stress & anxiety, keeping asthma under control, etc.. In fact, you will notice an immediate sense of relaxation through a short minute of breathwork.

Deep breathing doesn't help. What helps is rhythm. Get into a rhythm when you are doing deep breathing.

App itself is great. I especially like the calming voices and the expanding concentric circles that help keep you on task while breathing in and out. I also like the different kinds of breathing exercises offered (sleep, energize, stress relief). HOWEVER, Google has been asking me to update my payment info for a while now and no matter what card I use, my payment is declined. Not even PlayStore credit works. Tried to contact the developer but my emails keep bouncing back. Kind of frustrating.

Great app and agree to the suggestions in reviews. One thing that would be helpful is the ability to have more than 3 daily reminders. My therapist wants me to do this exercise 10 times a day so I have to try and remember to do them in-between my 3 reminders. Is there a way to set more reminders and I'm just not understanding how to do it??

I use it everyday. Pleasing animations, soothing ambient sounds and a super simple interface makes this app stand out. Best way to energize the start of my day or wind down before bed! Love that there are daily reminders, it helps cut through everyday distractions. But it should definitely be customizable, not fixed. Also, some sort of progress bar to visually complement the countdown would be nice and help me stay focused. PS. Kudos to the dev for being receptive & swift to act on feedback!
