About this app

Measuring Tools Pro puts seven measuring tools in one app: a bubble level, a ruler, a protractor and clinometer, AR measure, a light meter, a vibration meter (seismometer) and a metal detector. Your phone's sensors and camera measure tilt, length, angles, distance, height, area, light and vibration.
The bubble level and the ruler, calibration included, work without a purchase, and any reading can be saved with a note.

MAIN FEATURES

■ Bubble level
Lay the phone flat for a round bubble (left–right and front–back), or stand it on an edge for a bar level; it switches by itself. Tilt is shown to 0.1° in degrees or percent, with a beep and vibration when level.
Calibration: Quick sets the current surface as level. With Two-step you measure, turn the phone 180° in the same spot and measure again; this cancels the sensor's error, so no level surface is needed.
Premium adds ratio (1:n), mm/m, in/ft and Japanese roof pitch (sun), Auto hold and measuring relative to the current tilt.

■ Ruler
A full-screen ruler from the top edge, in cm/mm and inches (fractions or decimals). Drag lines A and B to read the length in large digits. Calibrate with a credit card, Japanese, US or euro coins, A4 paper or anything of known length.
Premium adds sections for objects longer than the screen, scale (1:2 to 1:500) and ring size.

■ Protractor and clinometer (Premium)
Drag two arms along an object on the on-screen protractor. The camera protractor measures on the live image or a photo, shows a plumb line and the angle of arm A to horizontal for roof pitch, and saves the image with the angle on it. The clinometer reads slope from the phone's edge and beeps at a target angle.

■ AR measure (Premium)
ARCore finds a surface; aim and tap Add point to measure a line, a path, an area or a height from the floor, then save the screen as an image. Phones without ARCore use the tilt method: distance and height from the angle and height you hold the phone at, with an error range.

■ Light meter (Premium)
Lux (lx) or foot-candles (fc) with min, average, max, a 60-second graph, recommended light levels and Light for plants (PPFD and DLI).

■ Vibration meter / seismometer (Premium)
3-axis waveforms, shaking in gal, an estimated JMA seismic intensity, the Mercalli intensity and frequency, with recording and a beep above a set level.

■ Metal detector (Premium)
Finds nails, screws and rebar in walls with the magnetic sensor, showing the change from a baseline with sound and vibration. It reacts to iron, steel, nickel, magnets and wires carrying current. It does NOT react to gold, silver, copper, aluminium or non-magnetic stainless steel.

■ Saved measurements
Save readings with the date and a note, then filter, share or copy them. Premium adds CSV export.

• Calibrate the level once with Two-step.
• Match the ruler to a card or coin.
• Use AR in good light over textured surfaces.
• Start the metal detector away from metal.

ABOUT THE READINGS
Readings are estimates from your phone's sensors and camera; accuracy varies by phone and placement. The seismic intensity is an estimate, not an official measurement. The camera is used only by AR measure and the camera protractor, and images are saved only when you tap Save image.
