About this app

The screen stays on. Only your touches stop working.

A finger brushes the screen and the video pauses. Hand the phone to a child and a minute later they are in another app. Things get tapped inside your pocket. Touch Lock Pro lays an invisible sheet over the screen and swallows every tap.

■ How to unlock — read this first

Touch the screen once while locked and a hint shows your gesture. There are several ways out, on purpose, so you can never get stuck.

• Double tap (free, default) — tap the screen twice
• Hold Volume Down (free, on by default) — the way out that needs no touch
• Power button to turn the screen off (free, on by default) — unlocks as it goes dark
• Unlock in the notification (free) — always there, even with controls off
• Restart the phone (free) — always unlocks, and the lock never returns by itself
• Hold 3 seconds / tap the four corners (Premium) — a stray touch cannot trigger
• Floating button (Premium) — a small button drawn on top of the lock

Volume Down and screen-off are on by default. Leave them on and you can always get out, even if you forget your gesture. Switching one off shows the gesture currently set and asks you to confirm, so you cannot close every exit by accident.

■ Where it helps

• Video — no accidental pauses, no seek bar jumping
• A child holding the phone — no closing the app, no calls, no purchases
• Maps, photos, e-books, sheet music — the view stays put
• Pocket or bag, car mounts, shop displays, wiping the screen

■ Free, forever

• Blocks every touch — no time limit, no usage limit, no ads
• Unlock by double tap, Volume Down, or the ongoing notification
• Keep the screen on while locked, and an unlock hint on touch
• Maximum lock time, so the lock is never left on
• Unlock when the screen turns off, and on restart

Video and audio keep playing: the lock is a transparent sheet, so data, notifications and ringtones carry on. Some games pause, as the app below loses focus.

■ Premium — one purchase, no subscription, no ads

● Full lock
Draws the lock above the notification shade and the navigation bar. With the normal lock, a shade you pull down works as usual; with Full lock it still opens, but no notification button and no tile responds. Back, Home and Recents stop working, and an incoming call screen sits under the lock. Turn it on in Accessibility settings to use it. Two things no app can block: the shade opening at all, and the swipe up from the bottom edge — Full lock is not about stopping the shade opening, but about nothing in it responding.

● Hold 3 seconds, or tap the four corners
A gesture a stray touch cannot trigger: top-left, top-right, bottom-right, bottom-left.

● Automatic lock per app
Locks when you open the apps you choose, after a delay you set.

● Floating button
Put it anywhere; drag to move, adjust size and opacity. Tap to lock or unlock, hold to open the app. Drawn in front of the lock, so it works during Full lock.

● Lock the screen orientation
Holds the orientation while locked. On tablets and unfolded phones it turns auto-rotate off for the duration and restores your setting after.

● Quick Settings tile and home screen widget — lock with one tap, without opening the app.

● Themes
System, Light and Dark are free. Teal, Ember, Violet, Forest and Rose recolour the whole app. Choose where the lock badge sits and how prominent the notification is.

■ Permissions

• Display over other apps — draws the lock and the floating button
• Notifications — Android requires one from any app holding an overlay
• Usage access — only for per-app auto lock. App names never leave your phone
• Accessibility — only for Full lock. Used to draw the lock on top; it does not read your screen

No ads. No account. No personal data collected. Android 8.0 and later.

■ Built so you never get stuck

The most common complaint in this category is "I could not unlock it". Unlocking always goes through, whatever the permission state and whether or not you bought anything.
Keep the screen on and switch every tap off. For videos, kids and pocket taps.
