The first thing one should know about the capacity of a washer is that the advertised weight refers to dry clothes. A "7kg washer", therefore, holds in its tub 7 kilos of dry clothes.
Another important factor is the volume occupied by garments. Foam filled articles and synthetic fabrics may be below the capacity limit (by weight), but the volume is larger than the capacity of the basket and may not accommodate the indicated weight for such clothing.

Special attention to heavier clothing such as jeans and bath towels. They should be arranged in the washing basket with some clearance. When compacted they impair the washing and spinning process by not evenly distributing the weight.
Therefore: always dry clothes, under the weight indicated in the manual and arranged in a well spread through the basket are essential not only for the washing process, but also to guarantee the durability of your appliance.
