Dear colleagues,
It is with immense honor and satisfaction that we announce the 45th Brazilian Hand Surgery Congress, which will be held from August 21 to 23, 2025, in the vibrant city of Belém do Pará. Located near the mouth of the majestic Amazon River, and surrounded by an exuberant network of rivers and islands, Belém is a city marked by the hospitality of its people and the richness of its culture, expressed in its colors, aromas, cuisine and rhythms that involve its celebrations. This will be the first time that SBCM holds its main event in the Amazon region, a historic milestone for our Society.
SBCM has been dedicated well in advance to developing a broad and up-to-date scientific program, focused on the most advanced concepts and techniques for the treatment of disorders and trauma of the upper limb. We will count on the participation of renowned national and international experts, who will bring to light discussions and innovations essential to our practice.
In the days leading up to the congress, the traditional pre-congress scientific activities will take place, in addition to an extremely relevant social action: a humanitarian action involving voluntary medical work to treat congenital and acquired deformities of the upper limbs of children in the Amazon. This social action will have the esteemed Dr. Rui Ferreira as its patron, and reflects SBCM's commitment to social impact beyond the borders of science.
We are honored to also announce that Dr. João Batista Gomes dos Santos, a highly relevant figure in hand surgery in Brazil, will be the Honorary President of our congress in Belém.
We invite everyone to participate in this unique event, which will certainly leave a lasting scientific and social legacy in the Amazon region. We count on the presence and contribution of each one of you to make this congress a milestone of excellence.
