About this app

The "SOUND & MÚSICA" application was created to present the most fundamental elements of musicalization such as sound parameters (pitch, duration, intensity and timbre), form and basic automatisms in a totally intuitive way, based on the sensory perception of these elements. In addition, it also brings a classical and popular repertoire, from different periods and different parts of the world, where it is possible to see how these elements are explored and worked by composers in the most diverse and original ways.

The methodology used has been developed based on more than 50 years of experience in the classroom at Núcleo Villa-Lobos in Belo Horizonte, a music school founded in 1971.

Main contents:
- Sound parameters pitch, duration, intensity and timbre – fully interactive intuitive graphics.
- Randomized sequences encourage repetition of activities for better fixation.
- “Orquestinhas” – songs to accompany following the “pulse”.
- Automatism of the names of musical notes.
- Intuitive spellings to represent the sound.
- Several songs in original arrangements help to better understand the contents.
- Indications of great recordings of works by the greatest classical and popular composers, to watch and listen on the website "www.somemusica.com.br".
