We are witnesses of a technological revolution. In our current society, many were born into an analog world and are slowly becoming digital beings. Others have been “digital beings” since birth. On the one hand, this allows us to witness new forms of business, developments in the medical field, administration, among other areas of knowledge. On the other hand, we find that not all people are able to disconnect from this digital world to live the real world. In this sense, the internet and especially the smartphone are addictive technologies.
The first use of MCMV was as a data collection tool for Rafael Amorim's Master's Thesis. The aim was to discover the smartphone addiction behavior of university students at Public Higher Education Institutions (IPES) in Brazil.
Currently (v5.0+), to meet the research of Master student Luís Augusto Soares Castellón, we seek to “investigate the relationship between addiction (addiction) to the smartphone, the experience of loneliness and the performance of executive (cognitive) functions of students university students". The role of this application is precisely to “measure” this usage pattern.
The application was specially developed for the study and collection, in a non-traceable way, of the usage habits of those surveyed and, in conjunction with the researcher's other data collection instruments.
The initial research is registered and approved with the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Pampa – Unipampa, and registered on the Brazilian Platform of the Ministry of Health – CAAE nº 16393719.7.0000.5323.
The research of Master's student Luís Augusto Soares Castellón is registered and approved by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Pernambuco - CAAE: 77244124.8.0000.5208.
