The idea of implementing a media outlet of this size in Andradas came about in 1991, on the initiative of a group of businessmen. The Andradense Educational Foundation was established with the aim of creating TV Andradas. On March 24, 1997, the Ministry of Communications published the authorization to install the station. After visiting the Association of Educational TVs (AMTEC) located in Belo Horizonte and many meetings, the directors responsible for the achievement decided to be retransmitters of Rede Minas, on Channel 36 UHF. The Ministry of Communications published the installation of the TV on March 24, 1997.
On October 12, 1998, the first broadcast was broadcast, showing moments of the inauguration ceremony and flashes about the city, tourism and history of Andradas. From then on, TV Andradas became one of the main media outlets in Andradas, reporting all events of public interest, carrying out educational campaigns and encouraging local culture.
TV Andradas opened up space for independent programs, formed partnerships to launch educational campaigns, and expanded its staff. In 2003, the board decided to create a more practical brand that would be known and remembered by all the people of Andradas and the region. On November 27 of that year, a cocktail party with municipal authorities marked the launch of ANTV and the slogan “It happens. It appears.”
The station is currently affiliated with TV Brasil. On January 7, 2013, the Ministry of Communications published in the Official Gazette the authorization of the Digital Channel to TV Andradas. Another great achievement for the people of Andradas.
