Founded in Petrópolis, on March 5, 1901, it started its trajectory by printing textbooks to attend Escola Gratuita São José on an Alauzet printing machine, recovered thanks to the entrepreneurship of Frei Inácio Hinte, with the name of Typographia of Escola Gratuita São José. In 1907, the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) launched the Revista de Cultura Vozes, a vehicle that quickly gained notoriety in the academic and religious centers of the time.
