It's not a game with ads, it's an ad that lets you play a game every now and then. After a certain point, you will 100% need to watch ads to progress the levels. You're basically spending more time watching ads than playing. I'm not talking about over or two. You'll need to watch at least 7 or 8 ads to make any progress without spending money. Also, I'm pretty sure most of the positive reviews are bought and not real. It's so obvious based on the Ai sounding script they have.

this is not a puzzle game, it's an ad watching simulator with short breaks for an almost fun but ultimately frustrating puzzle mini-game. post lvl ~15, it goes from "amusing skill-based puzzling" into "watch ads to win". Main problem is too little information to think things through so you have to sort strategically guess, but still a coin toss most of the time. Fastest way through is to just fail repeatedly and just watch an ad everytime, so if you're into that, this game is for you.

ETA: Love the cut/paste response from the devs proving they don't read the reviews at ALL! ***Zero stars! I 100% understand the need for ads. They are easily overlooked when the gameplay is good, getting a reward (boost/extra life, etc). This game forces you to watch an ad B4 you even have the option to use a boost/life. The levels are basically impossible to pass without extra help (I'm only on lvl 28). There are similar, much better games available for free--I recommend you try them instead.
