Binly answers one question, fast: what bin does it go in?

Type any item — or just point your camera at it — and Binly shows the right bin in your community's actual colours: blue box, yellow bag, grey box, green cart, pink box, blue bags, bac brun, or the depot.

IMPORTANT — Binly is an independent guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government, municipality, or recycling organization, including Recycle BC, Circular Materials, Éco Entreprises Québec, RECYC-QUÉBEC, Divert NS, Return-It, Consignaction, SARCAN, or Alberta Recycling. Rules change — always confirm with your local program. Every verified answer links to its sources.

LIVE SCANNING — POINT, DON'T TYPE
Hold the camera on any item and watch Binly work. It reads brand names, barcodes — even what the package calls itself: "laundry detergent", "pasta sauce", "sauce pour pâtes", 185+ product phrases in English and French — and recognizes shapes, taking a second, closer look at the object it spots. An on-device AI recognition model that knows 1,000 object types helps with things that have no label at all — shoes, pans, phones, produce — and a live engine indicator shows exactly what's working: shapes · text · barcode · AI. Live coaching guides you as it goes ("move closer", "reading text — hold steady", "got it"), with an aiming guide, tap-to-focus, pinch-to-zoom, a flashlight for dark cupboards, and a quick buzz when the scan is done. Everything happens on your phone: frames are analyzed in memory and immediately discarded, never recorded or uploaded. Still ambiguous (the box or the tube? the bag or leftover food?) — one tap settles it.

BINLY LEARNS YOUR PRODUCTS — PRIVATELY
Tap an answer once and Binly remembers, on your device only. Scan your usual milk carton again and the answer is instant. Item not in the suggestions? Find it by search and the photo still teaches Binly. The Photo Memory screen shows it all: the products it has learned, your recent scans (exactly what the camera saw), per-product Forget, Clear all — and separate switches to turn product memory or the AI model off entirely. Nothing ever leaves your phone.

Communities we haven't verified yet inherit safe provincial defaults and are labelled as such in the app.

No accounts. No tracking. No data collected. The camera works entirely on-device, and anything Binly learns stays on your phone — yours to review, clear, or turn off.
