WHY REPEAT
• Reviews scheduled by science, not guesswork. We use FSRS spaced repetition — an open algorithm built on the latest forgetting-curve research — to pick the moment you're about to forget each word. Less time on words you already know, more on the ones in danger.
• Both directions, tracked separately. "casa → house" and "house → casa" each get their own review schedule, so you learn the word both ways.
• Capture words while you watch. A floating bubble sits on top of any app — a video player, a streaming show, a browser, a chat. Tap it to grab a word from the screen, get an instant translation, and save it to your capture list. Review the list later and add the words worth keeping to a deck in one tap, so the vocabulary from tonight's movie is in tomorrow's reviews.
• AI builds the back of the card. One tap turns a bare word into a full memory card: audio pronunciation, an example sentence, a mnemonic, and an image. Today you plug in your own OpenAI or Google AI key and pay the model provider directly. A paid plan that includes AI without any setup is in the works.
• Built for the messy parts of language. Articles (der/die/das, le/la), irregular plurals, and full verb conjugation tables are first-class fields per deck. Presets for Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, and English; custom fields for everything else.
• Real pronunciation across 100+ languages. Where audio differs by region, pick the variant you want — American or British English, Spanish from Spain or Mexico, European or Brazilian Portuguese, and many more.
• Type the answer; we grade it intelligently. Answers are typed, not multiple-choice. A character-level diff is tolerant of capitalization and missing diacritics, and shows you exactly what was off so the correction sticks.
• Bring your existing deck. Import an Anki collection (.colpkg) with its audio, images, and review history. Your progress comes along, so cards you already know aren't reset to new.
• Stats that are actually useful. See what's due today, this week, and this month — per deck and overall. Daily limits keep sessions humane; push through extra training when you're in the zone.

WHO IT'S FOR
Anyone learning a foreign language, at any level — from a beginner adding their first ten Spanish words alongside a course, to an advanced learner keeping four languages alive at once. The defining trait is autonomy: you choose what to learn. repeat.cards is not a course and doesn't teach grammar. It's the tool that makes the words you've collected stick.
Bring the words. We'll do the timing and the cards.
