Dictionary for 51 language combinations, usable without an internet connection (offline dictionary). Vocabularies can be downloaded and updated within the app for free. All dictionaries are bidirectional, so German-English doubles as English-German. Just type in your keyword in either language.

This app with its offline ability was essential for my travel for a month. I so appreciate how quick and easy it is to use. Great for live use for conversation, while reading, or while writing. The notes about regional use were very helpful. If the dictionary provided use examples, etymologies, and definitions, it would earn 5-stars. There is not always enough context to determine whether a word is in fact the right choice for the given use case. Occasionally, translations were off.

Don't pretend to be learning German without this tool. From the countless examples of verbs conjugations and their cultural and colloquial applications, it is unsurpassed. Add the way the dictionary is formatted for easy usability, and it's web resources and you won't need to waste your time with any other puny German dictionary. Highly recommended.

It would be nice if the pronunciation feature was only activated by directly tapping that button instead of also on the translated words. It's quite embarrassing when it plays in public, and it's incredibly easy to accidentally tap the word while scrolling. The shame is that the app is otherwise uncomplicated and great for translations on the go.
