About this app

The GVZ hydrant finder app was specially designed for easy one-handed operation. When it starts, the app loads all hydrants in the canton of Zurich, but only displays those within a 500-meter radius. After selecting the desired hydrant, the AR view opens and marks the location of the hydrant with the distance specified by the device's camera.

The app is designed for devices that support Google ARCore. The location services must be activated.
It can happen that the hydrants are not precisely positioned in certain municipal areas in the Canton of Zurich. The GVZ works together with those responsible to improve the data quality.
