Use of the Accessibility API

Octoscroll uses Android's AccessibilityService API for its core functionality: blocking the apps you chose to monitor once their daily time limit is reached.

The service only detects which app is currently in the foreground (its package
name), so it knows when to show the blocking screen and when to count usage time. This is the only reliable way on Android to block an app at the exact moment it is opened.

Octoscroll does not read or collect the content displayed on your screen: no text, no credentials, no passwords, no keystrokes. This data stays on your device and is never sent to a server, shared, or sold.

The service is never enabled without your consent: you turn it on yourself in the
Android settings, and you can turn it off at any time from Settings >
Accessibility > Octoscroll.
