About this app

4 Chess helps you play over-the-board chess in Zurich. It is a community project by Schachklub Kreis 4 (the Zurich Kreis 4 chess club) that brings the city's casual chess scene together around partner cafés, clubs, and Zurich's public chess tables.

A PLACE TO PLAY CHESS
• Browse chess venues across Zurich on a map — partner cafés, the club, and community chess spots.
• Open a venue to see its details, address, opening hours, and whether a game is currently on.
• Checking in at a venue lets fellow chess players know a game is happening there.

ORGANISE CHESS GAMES
• Plan a chess game at a venue and let other players join in.
• Add a chess-friendly place you've found so the community can play there too.
• Get an optional reminder when there is chess activity at your favourite venues.

EVERYTHING FOR OVER-THE-BOARD CHESS
• Built-in chess clock for your games.
• Save the chess venues you visit most.
• Available in English and Swiss German.

SAFE AND RESPECTFUL
K4 Chess is for chess and nothing else. All submissions are filtered for offensive language, anything posted can be reported, players can be blocked, and you can remove your own posts at any time. We review reports and act within 24 hours.

What’s new

Meetups can now have no player limit, and shared meetups are real links — they open the app, or a web page for friends without it. Also: an "online" badge on the map, friendlier meetup times ("Today, 18:00"), notifications on out of the box (adjustable in Settings), and reliable directions on meetups and events.
