bono.chat is a private conversation between two people. Nothing more.
No account. No phone number. No name. You and one other person exchange two short codes — and a private, end-to-end encrypted room opens. When you leave, everything disappears. Nothing is stored, so there is nothing to hand over, leak, or sell.
HOW IT WORKS
- One person creates a chat and gets two short codes
- The other person enters the codes to join
- Both compare a five-word control phrase out loud — if it matches, you know it's really them
- Talk freely. Close the chat, and it's gone.
WHAT'S INSIDE
- Text, photos, files and voice messages — all end-to-end encrypted
- Disappearing messages (1 min to 1 hour)
- View-once photos that destroy themselves on both sides
- Voice masks to disguise your voice — processed on your device only
- Doodles, stickers, reactions, invisible ink and a tic-tac-toe game
- Dark theme, multiple languages (EN, RU, ET, DE)
- Up to 3 simultaneous private chats in tabs
PRIVACY BY ARCHITECTURE
- End-to-end encryption: CPace key exchange + AES-256-GCM
- The server is a blind relay — it only passes encrypted data and never sees your messages
- No registration, no identifiers, no message history, no logs
- Screenshots are blocked in the Android app
HONEST BY DESIGN
bono.chat is experimental and has not yet been independently audited. The content of your conversation is encrypted; the fact that a connection happened is not hidden. We tell you exactly what the app can and cannot protect — no marketing exaggerations. Not intended for life-critical use.
