No phone number to sign up. No location. No in-app camera. No key backup — lose the device, and that conversation is gone. On purpose.
Four erase mechanisms — a scheduled Erase Date, an Inactivity Erase, Trusted Accounts, and a panic erase — are each irrevocable once triggered.
What this doesn't do: encryption keeps a stranger from reading your messages. It doesn't stop a screenshot before an erase runs, and it doesn't make you anonymous — your identity is unlinkable, not invisible.
