About this app

MareaHub is the nautical safety and planning app for artisanal fishermen and kayakers on the Chilean coast. It combines professional marine forecasts, real-time tides, trip planning with alerts, an SOS button, a logbook, and a community forum.

▸ REAL-TIME WEATHER AND TIDES
More than 100 coastal areas covered, from Arica to Punta Arenas. Wave height, wind, gusts, tides, moon phase, air quality, and alerts. Hourly forecast and best window of the day (PRO Plan). Data provided by WeatherAPI Pro+ (https://www.weatherapi.com), which in turn integrates tide data from NOAA (https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov), the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

▸ TRIP PLANNING WITH PUSH ALERTS (PRO)
Schedule your trip by time and location. The app assesses conditions and sends push notifications if they change from SUITABLE to DANGEROUS before setting sail.

▸ SOS BUTTON WITH LIVE LOCATION
Activate SOS and share your real-time location. A public link allows family members and authorities to track you without installing anything. Direct access to Chile's public emergency numbers: Navy (137 — https://www.armada.cl) and SAMU (131 — https://www.minsal.cl).

▸ DIGITAL LOG
Record catches, conditions, bait, and observations with photos, location, and time. View your history by area or date.

▸ COMMUNITY FORUM
Connect with other anglers and kayakers: outings, photos, tips by area. React with five emojis (👍 🔥 😮 🐟 ⚓), comment, mentions with @name, and notifications. Open to everyone. Posting and commenting is part of the PRO Plan.

▸ INTERACTIVE MAP
View all 75 zones with their current status (suitable/caution/hazardous).

▸ ALERTS AND NOTIFICATIONS
Weather alerts (high surf, strong winds, thunderstorms) based on WeatherAPI Pro+ data and references to publications from Chilean meteorological services such as the Chilean Meteorological Directorate (https://www.meteochile.gob.cl) and the Chilean Navy's Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service (https://www.shoa.cl).
