Clono Clock and Notation is a combined chess clock and electronic scoresheet for chess games. The app replaces the traditional chess clock and paper-based scoresheets.
The app is a part of Clono Chess System which is a complete system for broadcasting chess tournaments live in an easy, affordable and secure way. The system is easy to use and set up, and there is no need for electronic chess boards, special clocks, cabling or an on-site engineer. The system consists of Clono Admin Panel (web), Clono Clock and Notation (app) and Clono Chess Cast (web).
The app has two modes:
1) Stand Alone: Two players can set up the game details and time control themselves. While playing they use the chess clock and the electronic scoresheet. When the game is finished the pgn can be copied to clipboard or sent on email.
2) Tournament mode: Connect the app to a tournament managed in Clono Admin Panel. The tablet will be assigned to a fixed table number and during the tournament receive the game details for the game that shall be played on that table in each round. During game, a new pgn is sent to the server for each move, and the game can be watched live on Clono Chess Cast.
Safe and secure in tournament use
When used in tournaments, Clono Clock and Notation app runs on a tablet completely controlled by the tournament organiser. The game data is encrypted, securily sent to the Clono Server move by move and the game is broadcasted live. As an increased measurement for anti-cheating the tablet can further be locked to only run Clono, and all other network traffic to and from the tablet can be blocked.
