About this app

Traveler's Chart is an American-First business map of the United States with turn-by-turn driving navigation. It opens straight to the map — no account, no sign-up, nothing to dismiss first.

Search a place or an address, take the directions, and drive them with spoken turn instructions read by your phone's own text-to-speech engine. No audio is recorded and none is sent anywhere.

BUILT FOR THE DRIVE — Once a route exists, the map caches the tiles along it, so the road ahead keeps drawing when the signal does not — tunnels, cuttings, the long empty stretches between towns. If a phone
call or the system reclaiming memory interrupts a trip, the app offers to pick the drive back up when you return to it.

PLACES — Restaurants, gas, groceries, retail, service, and entertainment — searchable across the map, or filtered to what is currently on screen.

SHARING — Any set of directions can become a link. Any location, coordinates. The start and end points are stored so the link still opens later, and they expire automatically after thirty days.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO — Traveler's Chart requests no Android permissions of its own — not location, and not even network access. That is checkable rather than a promise: Google Play lists an app's permissions on
this page.

It can work that way because the app is a thin shell around a map that runs in the system's browser engine. The browser does the networking, and when you tap the locate button the browser is what asks for your
location, under its own permission rather than ours. Your coordinates reach our servers only to answer the request you made — a route, or an address lookup — and are discarded afterwards. They are not written
to a database and not written to a log.

There is no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party SDK of any kind. There is no advertising identifier. Nothing follows you between sessions.

REQUIREMENTS — The map is served live, so the app needs a network connection to start. There is no offline cold start — only the cached corridor along a route you have already planned.
