About this app

Scanix brings document scanning, PDF reading and editing tools together on your phone.

Scan and create PDFs
Capture paper documents or choose existing images. Review, crop and enhance pages before creating a PDF. Choose scanning modes for documents, books, cards and receipts.

Read and search
Open PDFs, keep your reading position and bookmarks, and search existing text. Prepare scanned documents for search from the reader using on-device text recognition. Arabic and English are included; additional languages can be downloaded. Recognition accuracy depends on image quality, printed text and selected languages. Hide the reading controls when you want an unobstructed page, or copy and share a page as text or an image.

Sign, highlight and annotate
Add signatures, comments, highlights, text and drawings. Reposition, resize and rotate elements, and apply a signature or watermark to the current page, all pages or a selected range. Reading highlights are saved automatically and can be edited or removed when you reopen the document. Export a PDF with your highlights for use in other readers, or create a clean copy without your Scanix reading marks. Keep your original files.

PDF tools
Organize, rotate, replace and extract pages, merge or split PDFs, compress or optimize documents, add watermarks and use password protection. Fill supported existing PDF form fields. Navigate a document's built-in outline. Share your results or print with Android printing.

View Office files and convert to PDF
Preview DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files on your device, including files opened or shared from other apps. Browse PowerPoint slides and thumbnails, view available speaker notes, and use presentation mode with a laser pointer and temporary drawing. Convert supported Office files to PDF, review the result and share it. Complex layouts, fonts and objects may appear differently; this is not a full Microsoft Office editor. Legacy DOC, XLS and PPT formats are not supported.

Organize your documents
Use the library, folders and favorites. Keep unfinished projects in Drafts. View document information and remove processing data when needed. Local backup and a document vault are available for documents you choose to manage.

Privacy
Documents are processed on your device. Local tools do not require an account. Limited usage statistics are sent with a random app-specific identifier to improve the app, without sending document contents. Downloading additional languages or sharing to online services may require an internet connection.

Features labelled Soon are not currently available. Cloud synchronization, collaboration and an AI document assistant are not included.
