About this app

Diligence Diary is the digital food safety diary for UK food businesses — cafés, takeaways, food trucks, market stalls, restaurants and caterers. Swap the battered paper diary for quick daily records your whole team can keep, and hand any inspector a clean, complete report in seconds.

BUILT AROUND THE SFBB METHOD
Diligence Diary follows the structure of the Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB) pack: daily opening and closing checks, extra checks when something goes wrong, and a 4-weekly review. Official Food Standards Agency guidance allows diary records to be kept electronically, so you can keep your diary on your phone with confidence. Diligence Diary is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Food Standards Agency.

DAILY CHECKS IN SECONDS
• Opening and closing checks logged with a tap
• Record who was on shift and who signed the day off
• Anything wrong? Note the problem and the action you took, right on the day it happened

TEMPERATURES, DONE PROPERLY
• Fridge and freezer temps, morning and afternoon
• Hot food core temperatures with hot-holding follow-up reminders
• Chill-down records for cooling hot food safely
• Safe ranges built in, and entries lock once confirmed so records stay tamper-evident

PHOTO EVIDENCE
• Attach photos to any check or temperature — deliveries, clean-downs, probe readings
• "Prove It" gallery shows all your evidence in one place, backed up to the cloud

CLEANING ROTA
• Set up your own daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule
• Tick tasks off as you go and see the week at a glance
• Photo proof on any cleaning task

4-WEEKLY REVIEW
• Guided management review at the end of every 4-week period
• See which days are complete before you sign off
• Full history of past periods, ready for inspection

INSPECTOR-READY REPORTS
• Export a professional PDF of your records in seconds — 7 days, 4 weeks, 3 months or a year
• Or let the inspector scan a QR code and view your records on their own device, no app needed
• CSV export for your own records

SFBB GUIDANCE BUILT IN
• The safe methods guidance is right there in the app when you need to check something
• Fill in your own safe methods and keep them with your diary

SAFE, SYNCED, ALWAYS THERE
• Records back up automatically to the cloud
• Works offline — everything syncs when you're back on signal
• Use the same diary across several phones and tablets, with a web manager for the office
• Your data is yours: export everything whenever you like
