About this game

Each player starts with an idea. Something they want to see the other players make their best attempts at drawing. The idea gets passed on to a random player, who draws it. This is then passed to another player to describe, then draw, then describe, until we run out of players. At the end, all players reveal their drawings and guesses and much hilarity ensues.

Jots is best played with at least 7 people. It's fun with 6, but it's better with more.
8 players is best. 10 might be too many. One person starts the game and then invites the others to join on their own phones via the website or app.

Once everyone is in the game, Player One starts the game.

Everyone creates a starting scenario. Type in a short sentence or phrase that you would like to see other players draw.

Once all players have submitted a scenario the game starts. Each scenario is passed to another player to draw. Do your best to interpret the scenario as a terrible sketch.

Once all the players have submitted drawings, they are all passed on to the next player to describe. Do your best to describe what you see in the image, in as much detail as you can.

Play continues in alternating Draw/Sketch cycles until each chain of drawings and descriptions has been contributed to by every player.

Each player takes it in turn to present their original clue, and the sequence of drawings and descriptions that came from it. It is up to all players to decide if the final sketch or description resembles the original scenario, and to work out where things when wrong!

What makes a good scenario?

Players will have to interpret your scenario in a sketch. Think of something that will be simple enough to draw, but include enough detail to make it interesting, and make it abstract enough to be challenging!
