About this app

Class Assistant is a daily work tool for primary and secondary school homeroom teachers. Managing a class involves keeping numerous records: who's on leave, who's on duty, which students were spoken to this week, and how many days until the midterm exams. These records are scattered across WeChat, memos, and paper notebooks, making them cumbersome to flip through and even more troublesome during handover. Class Assistant consolidates all of this into one place.

Today: Today's schedule, to-do list, exam countdown, and student birthdays are all displayed on one screen. The homepage allows users to customize the modules and their order. To-do lists support due reminders, and the reminder text is anonymized so student information won't be displayed on the lock screen.

Management: Leave registration, leave cancellation and extension, point deduction and redemption, attendance and roll call, cleaning duty scheduling and rating with weekly group rotations, dormitory checks, parent contact list and group message templates, 1530 safety education log, evening self-study and after-school service registration, school calendar, and semester report summary. Exam scores can be entered by subject or imported from Excel, automatically generating average scores for each subject, lists of students below the passing grade, and class statistics; high school also includes lists of students who passed the qualifying exam and those receiving advanced or supplementary education.

Students: Each student has a file: basic information, two guardians, points, leave records, academic trends, and a timeline of progress. Batch addition of new students and import of lists from Excel/CSV are supported, as well as automatic seating arrangement, reshuffling, and row/column adjustments. Guardian informed consent forms can be handwritten and signed on a mobile phone or photographed and archived as paper documents.

Record Keeping: Records of home visits, conversations, and parent-teacher communication can be easily kept, with the option to attach photos, audio recordings, videos, and documents. These can also be linked to specific students, and the timing can be selected by the user. Conversation records can be signed by students on the spot, and the signature and record are encrypted and archived together. Conflicts between students are recorded in a conflict log, completely separate from disciplinary actions, and will not result in point deductions.

Image Recognition and Sharing: Screenshots of grade sheets and names received via WeChat can be directly shared with the teaching assistant for text and table recognition. The recognized table will be formatted as an editable sheet for your verification before importing. A parent's message, an image, or an Excel file can be shared to the teaching assistant with a long press; no prior file saving is required. When requesting leave, simply paste the message from the parent, and the student, time period, and reason will be automatically recognized. All recognition is completed locally on the phone; images and text are not uploaded.

Computer Workbench: When manually enabled, the computer browser accesses an encrypted webpage via the local area network. Login is via a one-time verification code, allowing batch entry of students, import of grades, and timetables. The entire process uses the local area network, without going through any server. The server automatically stops when switched to the background, and each access is logged.

Desktop Widgets and Shortcuts: The desktop widget displays today's timetable and to-do items, following the school calendar. Long-pressing the app icon allows direct access to leave requests, adding/subtracting points, and recording entries.

Privacy Information:

This is the part the teaching assistant most wants to clarify.

Student and parent information is encrypted using the national cryptographic standard SM4-GCM and stored locally in the phone's sandbox. The data key resides only in memory, wrapped in a non-exportable hardware key in the Android Keystore, and bound to the device's unlock status—it cannot be unpacked when the screen is locked. The application has no account system, requires no registration or login, and contains no code paths that send data to external servers. It does not include third-party SDKs for data such as advertising, statistics, event tracking, push notifications, or crash reporting.

The application supports password access and can be quickly unlocked using fingerprint or face recognition. It automatically locks when switched to the background, and student data is not exposed in multitasking interfaces. It provides one-click deletion at three levels: individual student, entire class, and the entire application. Data can be immediately deleted upon student transfer, graduation, or parental request.

What's missing in this version? Audio attachments require manual text description—the Android version does not currently include a speech-to-text engine.
