MathsInSeconds app is developed mainly for students who have a tough time solving basic mathematical calculations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and divison. In competitive exams like CAT, MAT, UPSC, etc, the aspirant has to perform many mathematical calculations mentally and in a very less duration of time.
MathsInSeconds help the students and the users improve their mathematical calculation abilities. Practicing with MathsInSeconds will help the students/users get an edge over others while performing mathematical calculations.
There are basically four areas in which user is tested – addition, subtraction, multiplication and divison. Also, user has the option to practice these calculations using two digit numbers or three digit numbers or both. The time limit to solve each question can also be set by user himself/herself. Hence, user has the option to control the duration of the test.
Once user has set the time limit, countdown timer is displayed on screen throughout the test. When the time is over, test window automatically closes and the user is moved to another screen where the result is displayed. Result is displayed in terms of number of questions answered correctly, number of questions answered incorrectly as well as the number of questions which user left unattempted. The total time taken to complete the test is also displayed.
Any person who performs mathematical calculations mentally on daily basis can benefit from this app. Some of the target group for this app includes

In future releases, scope of the test area will be increased. Apart from the current scope, other areas like squares, square root, cubes, cube root, factorials, etc. will be included. This will help the students in preparing for the competitive exams thoroughly.

User Experience – While developing this app, priority was given to the user ease and convenience while using the app and taking the test. Once the app is launched, user can access the test by a single tap. The test parameters like number of questions of different types i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and divison, of two digit as well as three digit numbers and time(in seconds) set for each question have a preselected default value. Therefore, user may not need to set these parameters and can directly start taking the test. If he/she feel the need to change the parameters, he/she can do so by selecting the items of their choice from the drop down and then start taking the test. Countdown timer is displayed at the top of the screen throughout the test. This always reminds the user to answer the questions as quickly as possible. Once the time is over, the test window closes automatically and result is displayed. User has access to the result immediately.
The app is developed keeping in mind the nature of various competitive exams conducted across the country. Time bound tests give the user a similar experience which he/she may face during actual competitive exams. Hence, it helps the user in preperation of various competitive exams to a great extent .
