About this app

Gate Smart Lock equips your door lock with a camera, doorbell, keypad and motion sensor; all managed through your phone. The Gate door lock hardware is required to use this app. No need to hide or share keys with cleaners, dog walkers, deliverymen, repairmen, guests, or anyone else. I had no end of problems with the app and the hardware. The device doesn't stay connected to wifi so it's impossible to use the majority of the features. Multiple trips were undetected by the camera as well as multiple locks and unlocks over a period of several hours. I tried resetting everything many different ways with no consistent success. Tried using spacers available with the lock to eliminate some other issues only to find that the space between the lock and the battery was too far apart and would not connect. Nothing but troubles.

Good app, would be 5 stars if there would be an option to monitor live audio/video/microphone any time, not just when motion has been triggered or call button pressed, and integration with Nest products. Currently modifying to add a solar panel for constant recharging, with sliding contacts on rotating dial. Optional IR light would be nice for darkness. Also, sign-in window has a bug where keyboard doesn't pop up.

Features don't work as intended. Knock and motion notification features do jot work at all. The video recording when there is motion is delayed. Had an open ticket with gate lab that was closed because the assumption the system /app update should resolve the issue, knock feature to allow you to open door through the app, but it did not. Great concept and I would recommend it for family use for keyless entry but not sure about guest for temp vacation rental (but I am not in that business.)
