**La Bavarde** helps you enjoy films with **audio description** by automatically syncing the described audio on your phone **at the right moment**.
**What does the app do?**
- Detects where you are in a film using the **film’s sound** (via your phone’s microphone).
- Starts and **syncs** the audio description (or accessible audio track) in your headphones.
- Makes the viewing experience more autonomous and comfortable.
**Who is it for?**
- Designed for **blind or with low-vision** audiences, and anyone who uses **audio description**.
- Built with accessibility in mind, including **screen reader support (e.g., TalkBack)**.
- Search engine available to find content more easily.
**How it works (quick overview)**
1. Search for your film in the app.
2. Download the corresponding audio track (ideally before your screening).
3. On first use, allow **microphone** access — required for synchronization.
4. Play the film: the app automatically syncs.
**Important**
- Microphone access is used to **detect the film’s sound and synchronize** the audio track.
- Sync performance may vary depending on the device, room volume, and playback source.
- La Bavarde does not provide films or video content. It works as a companion app: while you watch a film on another source (cinema/TV/streaming), it syncs ats audio description on your phone.
**Known issues (being fixed)**
- **Audio track download time**: currently about **2–3 minutes** on Android (vs a few dozen seconds on iOS).
- **“Back” button**: issues when using **screen readers** and **accessible navigation gestures**.
