The red line of the light rail is the first line of a high-passenger transportation system that passes through the busiest areas of the Gush Dan metropolis in the cities of Bat Yam, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Ramat Gan, Bnei Brak and Petah Tikva.

The red line serves the largest number of passengers in relation to the future light rail lines and will transport approximately 71 million passengers per year!
The train line was designed to respond to the increasing traffic congestion in Gush Dan and to provide an optimal interface with the other means of public transportation.
The route of the line will meet with Israel Railways' HaShalom and Sevidor Center stations, thus allowing for continued intercity travel with ease and simplicity. In addition, the line has connections to the Kiryat Aryeh stations and the central station in Petah Tikva.
